A photography-theatre collaboration with playwright and director Tan Liting and Charmaine Poh, commissioned for the Taipei Arts Festival, Pretty Butch is an exploration of lived butch culture in Taiwan. Made in response to the play of the same name, the series of images draw from a myriad of experiences, including hair salons, sports gyms, queer bars, and shared homes. Throughout the course of the play, actors interacted with the photographs, hanging them up one by one.
